Season Pass
2011 marks the seventeenth season that Aten Place has provided Concerts in the Barn. Those that have attended since our early years have watched us change and grow each year. Although we have grown bigger than we ever imagined, we have endeavored to keep our mission the same; to provide our Northern Michigan community with an enjoyable evening of original and traditional music in a relaxing atmosphere at an affordable price.
Aten Place is a labor of love for us. We operate as a not-for-profit, and do not have any employees or support staff. Fortunately, over the last few years, friends have helped us keep up with the work required to maintain the barn and grounds, so that we can continue to provide our concert series.
Sponsoring the concerts already consumes much of our time, and we do not have the extra time or staff that would support reservations or pre-sale of tickets. We have tried several approaches to handling the increasing popularity of the concerts and desire to secure good seating. In an effort to be most fair to all patrons, we will open the ticket booth and barn doors at 6:30 p.m. the day of the concert.
With the encouragement of many of our faithful patrons we started selling Season Passes in 2009. We will continue to make a limited number of seats available for Season Passes, which include reserved seating. We have set aside 60 seats of our available 175 for reserve seating. The seats made available are in every other row in each of the three sections. Limiting the number of seats available to be reserved guarantees that there are an ample number of good seats throughout the theater still offered the day of the concert.
Lastly, we respect and honor our most loyal patrons, and will continue to give the previous year’s season pass holders first option on reserving the same seats for the 2011 season. These patrons will be sent notification in February that they will need to notify us by March 1st if they intend on maintaining their season passes for the 2011 season. Those that decline will have their seats placed back in the pool of open seats that will be made available on April 1st. The seats available for passes in the 2011 season will be indicated on our seating chart included on the application as well as our website.
Season Pass with Reserved Seating
1) Beginning April 1, 2011, orders for a season pass will be received and processed. The request must be via US Postal Service only, addressed to Aten Place, 03492 Old Mackinaw Trail, Boyne Falls, MI 49713. Letters postmarked earlier than April 1, 2011 will be returned to sender. Email or phone requests will not be accepted.
2) The Pass, or passes, must be paid in full (check or money orders only).
3) No more than (4) Season Passes may be purchased by a given individual.
4) Patrons will be required to request several choices for seats. Check our seating chart to see which seats are available for the 2011 season. Choices will be filled on a ‘first-come’ basis. In the situation when requests are received and have the same US Postal Service Date Stamp (postmark), and are for the same seat(s), a lottery will be employed, and 2nd (or possibly 3rd) choices will be filled for the loser(s) in the lottery. Alternate choices would also be used in situations when seats requested have already been reserved.
5) Patrons whom we are unable to honor their 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice, will be notified and allowed to decide on further choices, or withdraw their request, and their check returned.
6) The passes are for seats for the *entire summer schedule, and may be shared with others.
7) A seating chart for the barn is printed on the reverse side, along with this summer’s schedule. Both are also available at our website, www.atenplace.com
8) We request that Season Pass holders who know that their seats will not be used on the night of a concert, please call or email us and allow us to make those seats available for sale.
* NOTE: The 2011 season pass is good for only ONE NIGHT
of the play “Escanaba in Love”, held on August 25th, 26th and 27th.
